Congratulations to Isla our AM Rock Star of the day. Isla shared that she belongs to a soccer team in her community. Thank you Isla, for showing us two team photos and your super cool medal! Isla told us that she scored a goal and her team won the medal. Great job!

Students participated in a shared reading of Danielle Daniel's beautifully illustrated book, Sometimes I feel like a Fox. Students discussed the significance of animals for many Indigenous cultures, including the Annishnaabe tradition of totem animals, as shared in Danielle's book. Students enjoyed thinking about the characteristics of familiar animals and deciding which animal shares some of their own special qualities and styles. Students then transformed a photograph of themselves into their animal of choice in order to represent this special connection.
