Choose your own Table Time adventure:
bubble gum math / number sequence problem solving challenge / sorting / story telling with felt
Ask your child which table they tried today.
Students looked closely at a picture of their Kindergarten Tree. Students discussed the textures and colours that they could see. Students sketched a tall tree trunk using straight lines and a letter Y pattern to create the branches of their tree.
After a fresh air break, students returned to their Fall tree art to add some colourful fall leaves. Using a paint and sponge technique students added beautiful green, yellow and brown leaves.
AM students enjoyed a trip to the library. Students who returned their books were able to check out 2 new books to share with you at home.
We ended our day with some Math songs and a shared reading of Fall Leaves Fall. Students were interested to see the different types of leaves detailed in the book. Students were asked to continue to look for signs of fall this weekend (fingers crossed the snow doesn't stick around for too long!!).
If your child finds an interesting leaf and they would like to share it with the class please feel free to send it to school with them next week.
Orange Shirt Day is on Monday September 30th. Your child is invited to wear an orange shirt in remembrance and support of Indigenous children who attended Residential schools. Orange Shirt Day is a day to honour each and every child. In Kindergarten, students will focus on their own unique interests and qualities as well as have the chance to appreciate diversity in others. In our learning community everyone is welcome and valued.
Have a great weekend.
Mrs. Dennis
