Wednesday Oct 29th

AM kindergarten started their day reviewing the life cycle of a pumpkin.  Students acted out each stage of a pumpkins growth: seed, sprout, flower, young pumpkin plant to full grown pumpkin. Students who did not have chance to finish a pumpkin life cycle colouring book made one during table time to share with you.

AM kindergarten who had previously completed their pumpkin life cycle book enjoyed a dice game: How many google eyes does your monster have?

AM kindergarten had a busy day with Phys. Ed and Music. Students had time to return to their Veteran Food Drive poster work to add a few finishing touches. Some students choose to finger paint poppies while others cut and pasted some paper poppies onto their posters. We can't wait to share these posters with New Brighton school and spread our excitement.

AM Kindergarten comment on their Veteran Food Drive work:

Sarim:  We are collecting food for I forget their name
Maguirms - We are collecting for Veterans
Jax:  A Veteran is a guy that needs food
Emma:  Veterans help people
Sarim:  They help to keep us safe
Fred:  We should donate crackers
Sineen:  We could donate banana, grapes and pasta
Emma:  They need syrup
Sophie:  and pancake mix
Kash:  Maybe a piece of candy, gummy worms and maybe gummy bears

PM Kindergarten Celebrated Birthdays, Rockstars and Pumpkins

PM Kindergarten would like to wish Scarlett a very happy 5th Birthday.  Scarlett plans to celebrate with a white tiger party and a big piece of white tiger birthday cake.

Happy Halloween from PM kindergarten

PM kindergarten enjoyed making their very own unique pumpkins to take home to share with you.

Some special center time activities for our special day

Thank you so much to parents who donated pumpkins for us to investigate. Students compared  a green pumpkin and an orange pumpkin.  We had so much fun guessing which one was heavier and taller and guessing how many seed where inside. Some fun surprises: both the green and the orange pumpkin floated in the bucket of water!  The green pumpkin even had green seeds inside!! Everyone had a chance to scoop out some pumpkin seeds. Students are looking forward to planting some of their seeds on Monday.

Congratulations to Ashton our fantastic PM Rock Star.  Ashton shared his fingerling dinosaur and some of his favourite activities with his PM friends, "I like to ride my bike and play with my dinosaur while I watch my Mom cook".  Ashton gave his friends a cool demonstration of all the fun noises his toy dinosaur can make.  Awesome!
