Welcome back kindergarten. I hope everyone had a wonderful relaxing long weekend.
Kindergarten greeted friends and shared their stories in a sharing circle.
Table Time: Quiet Reading
Our next round of Rock Star presentations kicked off today with a fantastic start. A big thank you to Sineen for sharing the community groups she belongs to. Sineen shared that she loves to be a member of the New Brighton community. She belongs to the New Brighton Club "Buzz" and enjoys spending time with toys and friends when her Mom goes to Yoga. Sineen really likes soccer and plays outside at home and she enjoys going to the beach and splash park in New Brighton in the summer. Great job Sineen! Thank you for telling us about your community and the activities you enjoy doing in your community.

PM kindergarten would like to wish Boston a very happy 6th birthday which she celebrated on the 15th. Sounds like you had a wonderful party and a special birthday cake!

*** Tomorrow kindergarten will be celebrating their 100th day of school***
The k-team will be dressing the part. Your child is invited to join in the fun and dress up like they are 100 years old! As always, dress up days are optional. All students will have an opportunity to make a 100 days of school crown to wear throughout the day in celebration of this special day.

Forest Animal Investigations
Today students made a tough decision: Which forest animal would you like to build your 3-D habitat diorama for? Students will create their animal this week using plasticine. The construction of 3-D habitats will begin next week. Students are getting very excited to start using all those great shoe boxes. Thank you parents!!

Which animal did you child pick? |
AM and PM kindergarten worked to finish their Show what you Know, February progress report. Students have worked one to one with the teacher and individually to identify the letters and sounds that they know to date, the numbers they are able to recognize and represent as well as their ability to express their ideas through drawings and written work. Using multiple labels in sentence format will be exciting next steps for these young writers. You can expect this progress report to be sent home in your child's backpack by the end of the week.
