Welcome to Mrs. Dennis' Kindergarten Class

Greeting students and meeting parents was a wonderful way to start our first official week of kindergarten together.  I am looking forward to sitting down and spending more time with parents on Sept 19/20 at our first scheduled parent/teacher conferences. Stay tuned for booking information which will be available soon on our school website.

Today kindergarten students enjoyed their first P.E. (Physical Education) class with Ms. Nanavaty.  Students learned to move safely in the gym and enjoyed a new game called magic rock.

Students returned to class and were introduced to their first week of table time activities. Students were introduced to a variety of lines. Lines are all around us and we are beginning to identify different types of lines we encounter, including the lines in our own very special names.  Ask your child which table they explored today?

  • Table one:  Exploring lines with loose part

  • Table two:  Name Tracing

  • Table three: Line Tracing

  • Table four: Cutting Lines
Students then enjoyed an online book called: My Name is Elizabeth.  Students discussed their own unique and special names and wrote their name in their blue writing book.

After a healthy snack and some center time play and learning, students gathered for a read aloud book.  Students enjoyed a book called David Goes to School.  Students were quick to comment on some of David's unexpected choices and offered many helpful suggestions.

You have mail .....

Please check your child's backpack for blue demographic forms that went home today. Please review and sign these forms and return them to school in your child's backpack. AM students, if your child did not receive their form it will be sent out tomorrow. My apologies for any confusion and thank you for your patience as we adjust to new mail routines in Kindergarten.

Kind regards,

Mrs. Dennis
