In kindergarten students are working towards drawing, recording and telling about their ideas and experiences. This involves experimenting with sounds, colours, print and pictures to express ideas and feelings. Adding details to drawings (kindergarten written work) is an important skill as it provides our audience/reader with more information.

AM Kindergarten:  Willa

Willa shared one of her favourite activities with AM kindergarten:  "I like to plant and pick flowers with my Mom. My favourite flowers are calla lilies and the dahlia. Willa drew a wonderful picture and brought in some lovely images of her favourite flowers to share with her classmates.  How beautiful.  

PM Kindergarten: Seth shared one of his favourite activities " I like to play hot wheels with my brother pat.  We build cool tracks together.  I got my hot wheel from Walmart for five bucks".  Seth drew a picture and brought one of his favourite hot wheel cars from home to share with his friends.  Thank you rock star Seth for sharing something special about yourself with PM kindergarten.

Parent Reminders:

• Friday Oct. 25th PM kindergarten attends.  PM's turn for to go leaf hunting and visit the local playground. Please dress your child for an outdoor adventure.

• Halloween celebrations for AM and PM: please refer to New Brighton admin message that is emailed out to all parents on Friday for  more details.
• Thursday Oct. 31st AM Halloween celebration  8:10 - 11:45 (students are welcome to dress up in costumes or wear their pajamas to school).

• We could use your help! We are looking for a few pumpkins for next weeks learning activities. Students will have an opportunity to explore and investigate a variety of pumpkins and of coarse dig out some wonderful seeds to count and even plant. If you would like to donate a pumpkin to AM or PM kindergarten, please send it with your child to school by Monday.  We are looking for a variety of pumpkins to explore and investigate so if you do have one to spare, we will gladly accept any size, shape, colour or texture.  Thank you so much!
