What to wear in the winter: Informational Writing

Congratulations to Emily our PM Rock Star of the day.  Emily did a fantastic job speaking about her family's Albanian flag and language spoken at home. She is really looking forward to enjoying her special family traditions of movies and popcorn and sledding this holiday season. Thank you Emily, for sharing a little more about what makes you special and unique.  Emily received many complements and answered many eager questions.

Kindergarten finished their last rotation of table time.  Ask your child which table they enjoyed the most and what they learned through table work this this week: measuring length, reading snowman winter words, writing winter clothing words

Learning Job
Informational Writing:  How to dress for the winter weather

Students drew a WOW picture of an outdoor winter scene, including lots of glue and glitter to make snow. Students sounded out beginning letter sounds and/or copied environmental print using the classroom words tool, to label winter clothing.  Imagine if you just arrived from a warm sunny place.  What do you need to know about dressing for the winter in Calgary. Kindergarten will tell you that you need to wear:  hat, mittens, gloves, scarfs, neck warmer, jacket, snow pants and boots.

AM kindergarten enjoyed getting together as one big group to sing some winter songs together!

PM kindergarten enjoyed some caroling as well as a performance by the Grade 3/4 choir.

Thank you Lincoln for sharing your piece of the classroom quilt.  PM Kindergarten really enjoyed hearing all about the adventures of your Elf on the Shelf.  What a fun family tradition!  Great job.

AM kindergarten attends tomorrow morning.
