Wednesday

Congratulations to today's Rockstars: Kash (AM) Caydence (PM)
Kash shared one of his favourite activities with his classmates, "I like watching my Papa run the skidder". My name is even written on the side. Papa stays warm inside in the winter and he can listen to music".  Students were very interested and asked lots of questions.  Thank you Kash for sharing something special about yourself with your friends and for brining in this very special family photo.
Caydence brought in a few of her special toys to share with her classmates, "One of my favourite activities is playing with these toys". Caydence also shared that she also enjoys painting and "I like to paint princess pictures and I actually painted these toys". Thank you Cadence for sharing your special toys with PM Kindergarten.

AM Kindergarten started their day by returning to a special art project. Previously, students used painters tape to form their first initial or "special letter" as a title page in their visual journal. Today, students used tempra paint to wash a rainbow of colour over their "special letter".  Peeling the tape off to reveal the hidden special letter underneath will be exiting once the paint has time to dry.

AM/PM Kindergarten continue to investigate what makes them special and unique.  Last weeks self portraits where a great way to examine unique facial features.  Students returned to their portrait work in order to complete a simple sentence frame: I have _________ eyes.  I have _________ hair.  Copying environmental print is an important kindergarten skill, one that we will work on throughout the year.

Students enjoyed a shared reading of Wendy Ewald's lovely book, The Best Part of Me. Taking inspiration from the children in Ewald's book, students considered their own favourite feature.

Stay turned for some quotes from AM and PM Kindergarten on their favourite body parts and the reasons why.

Have a lovely evening.
