Tuesday Nov. 19th

AM Kindergarten would like to wish Katerina a very happy 5th Birthday.  You have really been looking forward to this day and we wish you all the best!  We hope that you enjoy celebrating with a big piece of chocolate cake with some ice cream ("on the side of course").
Sarim had chance to share his Rock Star presentation today.  Thank you Sarim for speaking to AM kindergarten about your families origin, languages and special traditions.  What a special meaning behind your special name!  Thank you so much Rock Star Sarim.

Congratulations to Ekamveer our AM Rock Star of the day.  Ekamveer told us all about the colours in his family flags. Ekamveer's family speaks Punjabi and English at home.  Ekamveer shared a word for hello in Punjabi with his classmates!  Ekamveer loves to spend time with his family.  Great job Rock Star Ekamveer.

AM Kindergarten:  Fun with Length
Students worked with a partner to measure their hands and feet using non-standard measurement (blocks).  Comparing length with a friend was fun and challenging work. Mrs. Dennis was so excited to hear some great math conversations:  longer, shorter, the same,  2 blocks longer etc.

PM Kindergarten:  Sign in using their feelings chart and sharing their feeling with peers.

PM Kindergarten had a busy day with Phys. Ed and Music.

Kindergarten enjoyed a shared reading of Roth Ohi's book, Fox and Squirrel.

Students discussed ways in which friends can be unique and different as well as share similarities and interests.  PM students had time to do a friendship survey to learn a little more about similarities and differences with their classmates.

Congratulations to PM Rock Star Akbar for sharing his families origins, traditions and languages wth PM kindergarten. Akbar spoke very clearly about his family traditions and how he enjoys swimming at the Seaton Y on Sundays and money and present on Eid.  Thank you so much Akbar for teaching us goodbye in Pashto.  Great job!
