Kindergarten started their day with a Number Line Challenge.

Learning Job:  Making Predictions.

Students started by viewing the cover of Antonette Portis' book cover, Not A Box.



What do you think this book will be about?

Willa: I think it will be about a box and a bunny and a book and maybe a birthday surprise.
Isla:  I think the bunny will get eaten
Sophie: I the the bunny will get some money.
Ayan: I think the bunny will get food.

Ashton:  I think it will be about a bunny a box and maybe food in the box.
Emalyn: I thin the bunny will have good inside.
Boston:  I think the bunny will help the Veterans
Maisie: I think the bunny will go to the house to get food for the Veterans.

After reading a few pages.  Students made predictions about what the rabbit would turn the box into next.

Sarim: I think the bunny will turn it into a bike.
Kaydan:  I think the bunny will turn it into a car.
Jean-Phillip: I think a car
Kask: I think it will be a spider
Julian:  Maybe a spider or a snake
Arjun: Maybe a tiger
Sineen:  I think it will be a car again.
Isla:  I think it will be a robot
Jax:  Maybe it will be a costume of a box
Emma:  Maybe a rocket ship.
Katerina: "I have read the book so I know what will happen next"

Hassen:  A spaceship
Layla: A rocketship
Ashton: It might be a pretend bouncy house.
Caydence: It might be like a volcano
Seth: It might be a tower
Brayden: It might be a waterfall he can jump down.

PM Kindergarten had time to start another book about a box. Students really enjoyed making predictions about what adventure Leo and his box would go on next.  
We will have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
