Wednesday March 4th: My healthy teeth

AM students had a fun filled day of learning.  No time for Table activities this morning, instead students went right into Physical Education with Ms. Nanavaty.

Students then enjoyed a special presentation from the Mahogany dental office.  A big thank you to Mrs. Hellyer's class for hosting and organizing this special learning experience.

A big thank you to Mahogany Village Dental for teaching kindergarten how to keep their teeth healthy and happy.  Students learned appropriate brushing technique, how to floss as well as healthy food choices that keep our teeth happy and healthy.

After music and a quick snack, students worked in their visual journals to share their ideas for how to keep teeth healthy and strong.

Fun with floss at the exploration table.

Amazing AM Rock Star

Thank you Emma for sharing all about the Yoga group you belong too.  Emma's favourite pose is the Tree pose!  Emma brought in her yoga rock which helps her stay calm and focused.  Great job Emma.
PM kindergarten had time to start their day with Table Time learning:
Table One:  Patterning
"My pattern is big, small, big, small .... "
Table Two: Fine Motor Challenge
Beat the timer: Can you move all the "eggs" (pompoms) from one nest to the other nest before the time runs out using only your "beak" (tweezers / tongs)
Table Three:  Colour by Number
recognizing numerals /  using our colouring rubric
"What does high quality colouring look like?"

I colour inside the lines
I cover all the white spaces
My colours make sense
Table Four:  Guided reading with Mrs. Dennis

Amazing PM Rock Star: Maisie
Maisie shared her swimming ribbon and report card as well as a very cute picture of her when she was 3 years old.  Maisie loves belonging to a swim group and she likes to do star jumps and go under the water.  Maisie showed her classmates the flutter kick and star jump.  Great job Maisie

You have mail:  Please check your child's back pack for movie tickets (if purchased) and for PM kindergarten the remainder of the February parent progress reports
